a picture is worth a thousand words

I have been meaning to pull out the ol'SLR and practice up on my photography skills (HA!) My camera has been sitting in my closet for months now; it's just so easy to take pictures with your phone now a days- and the quality isn't that bad either! But, I used to love taking pictures as a hobby and wanted to get back into it again.

My husband is gone on a canoeing trip this weekend with some youth group guys, so I'm at home all by my lonesome (it's not as bad as it sounds) so to pass some time I wiped out the camera! I'm glad I did, I had a lot of fun! I would love to invest in a new/better camera in the near future, but I promised my husband in order to see it as worth it I need to use the camera I have now more often- so here I go!

Our little one's nursery is coming along! A lot of this stuff wont be staying on the window sill, but we haven't got around to putting up any of the shelves or furniture in the room yet. So here's a sneak peak of what is to come!

The view from our babies room. Breathtaking! I love the view from our home. I kind of wish this was the view we saw from our kitchen and living room window, if only our house was moved a little bit more to the left! But i'm not complaining- I'm sure i'll be enjoying this view from a rocking chair in the very near future!

MCC and garage store finds! I love old books, brings me back to my childhood. I really look forward to reading these to our little one!

I don't mind lady bugs when there outside. :)

When we first found out we were going to have a baby I started a baby journal. It's been so fun to document this pregnancy and write down little memories, name ideas, complications, what we've been learning etc. I hope to continue to write in it far into our child's youth! I look forward to sharing this book with them later on in life as well.

My potted plants. No editing, they are so hot pink!

We have two little birds nests in our yard this year. This momma bird was keeping watch on me as I explored her nest.

The home of one the birds nests. This tree isn't dead apparently, just severely sun burnt. We hope it bounces back soon!
Much to my surprise the eggs had hatched! There were three little baby birds all curled up in their nest! I understood more clearly why that momma bird wouldn't leave me alone. It was really hard to get this picture, and I'm glad it some what turned out. I was using my macro lens, and  I was to scared to get to close incase the protective momma bird decided to attack me. So I kept my distance! But seriously, how cute/ugly are they!
